How To Decorate A Flocked Tree Like A Pro

How To Decorate A Flocked Christmas Tree

” “

Welcome to my first blog for Vlogmas 2021! I can’t believe it’s already the end of the year. But with that comes Christmas tree decorating which is beautiful to look at but can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. Have you ever been walking in a mall and passed by a Macy’s tree that you couldn’t take your eyes off?  I know I’ve sometimes wondered how the decorator managed to get so many ornaments on the tree without giving it an overcrowded look. After some practice, I’ve come up with a couple of easy tips to pull off that elegant tree in your home.

Tip Number 1: Always go through what you have or if starting fresh sit down and come up with a theme. It can be something like winter wonderland or a color theme like pink, blue and white. Once you  have your plan, stick to it.

Tip Number 2: It’s super important to make sure you fluff your tree to make it look as natural and luxe as possible. This process can take time but I assure you the extra 10-15 minutes can make or break your outcome. I like to start from the base of the tree fluffing ( separating) each branch. Then I work my way up to the top.

Tip Number 3: Grab some family and friends to help to fluff and decorate the tree. The saying “two eyes are better than one” holds true for decorating. Having multiple helpers eases the job of adding the various steps of decorating as well as makes the process fun. My family throws on Christmas music/ movies and pj’s so we can make a night of the experience.

Tip Number 4: Start decorating your tree with Ribbons before adding the ornaments. Cut pieces of ribbon into 3- 4 inch strips to save on how much ribbon is needed for a tree. Weave the ribbon in and out of the tree making a wave pattern. You can add one type of ribbon at a time or combine 2 ribbons for a layered effect.

Tip Number 5: Add your ornaments but make sure to place then deep within the tree. Try not to have them right on the ends of the branches. Once you have maybe 2-3 boxes/ packages of ornaments its time for the picks. Use your picks and specialty ornaments to add extra beauty. Look for holes or gaps in the tree to place you picks. You don’t want to be able to see through sections of your tree.

Tip Number 6: Remember Christmas is about the love, fun and memories. So if your tree is “perfect” the first time do it again if you like, or don’t. Its the fun times you share with your family that make the tree special.

Bonus Tip: Don’t forget about a tree topper. Go for something unique like a hat, swan or other elegant animal, bows or picks bursting from the top. I’d love to see what you come up with. Tag me on instagram with your creation and ill gladly feature it on the blog. Be blessed yall!
